Scope of Work: ERSI provided a continuum of service over several contracted years for demolition; dismantlement; decommissioning; and abatement/decontamination of numerous structures in an active film/chemical manufacturing facility.
Hazardous material abatement included: asbestos abatement, lead paint abatement, removal of PCB oils, removal of combustible/incendiary methylene chloride, removal of combustible / vibration sensitive nitrocellulose, dismantling and decontamination 12,000 linear feet of former chemical process piping, removal of PCB light ballasts, and tank cleaning. Recycling/salvage services also were provided. Average crew size was approximately 75 workers/operators with peak size of 135.
ERSI was responsible for all environmental cleaning and abatement and required demolition services for ten buildings. Upon decontamination and abatement of each building, ERSI was required to successfully complete a comprehensive pre-demolition inspection conducted by the New York State Department of Conservation. All work was completed in accordance with regulatory guidelines with no incidents/injuries.
