Scope of Work: ERSI was contracted to perform asbestos abatement; removal of universal waste (bulbs, ballasts, fluids); demolition of the chemical process areas and structures; disposal/recycle of all debris/scrap; and restoration of the site at the completion of the work. Onsite asbestos removal included friable and non-friable materials. The boiler house contained 5 boilers, all with friable asbestos containing materials (ACM). The boiler house was placed under negative pressure during ACM removal. In the chemical process areas, there was more than a mile of ACM thermo-system insulation asbestos pipe, and 4,000 sq ft of block insulation. Additionally, our scope of work called for draining and decontaminating the chemical process equipment, the reaction vessels, and tanks. All work was completed in accordance with regulatory guidelines with no incidents/injuries.
